The Night Climbers is a small society that introduces founders on a wall to people who have already been over one. It sits inside the Innov8 Global and Yellow Door ecosystem and operates nightclimbers.xyz. Innov8 Global Advisory LLC is the company behind it and the data controller for everything described here. Four kinds of thing, and the second one is the one worth reading.

What you send us

Your name and email when you sign in. If you are climbing, your kit: the wall in a line, your stage and working language, a deck link and anything else you add, answers to six questions, and a voice note of up to sixty seconds if you record one. If you apply as a guide, the answers you give: what you have built, exits and the story behind them, the markets you have personally opened, links to talks, patents, papers or press, and a short video. Once a guide is approved, their desk: a pseudonym, what they will push on, the times they work and the rate they ask.

What somebody else sends about you

This is the unusual one, so we will be blunt about it. Members nominate and vouch for people, which means someone may hand us your name, your email or LinkedIn, how they know you, and what they have watched you do - before you have heard of us. If that has happened and you would rather it had not, write to us and it goes. You do not have to join anything first, and you do not have to explain. A passed kebab is different: the name and the note travel inside the link itself. Our server reads them only to draw the link preview and the greeting, and keeps nothing - unless the person it was passed to applies as a guide or sends a kit, and then we keep only the name of who passed it.

What happens in a session

A session is recorded only if both people say yes, each on their own. Where both did, we hold the transcript and a summary written from it: what was worked on, and the actions each side took away. The summary is written by Claude, run by Anthropic, and the transcript is sent to it for that purpose alone. It is not used to train any model. The summary belongs to the two of you; the club holds it and does not read it. If either of you says no, there is no transcript and no summary, and nobody is asked why. A short note on how it went may be left afterwards, held by the club and never published.

Anonymous page statistics

Which pages were viewed, roughly which country from, and which site sent you. No cookies, no profile, nothing that identifies you. That is also why you are not reading a cookie banner.

A kit is read in full by two readers at the club, and by nobody else. A guide who might raise a hand for it sees the wall in a line, your stage and your working language, with no name attached. The guide you choose sees that and your name, and never the deck, the six answers or the voice note.

Guides stay under a pseudonym until the first paid session with the climber who chose them, and their rate stays hidden until the free thirty minutes have happened. There is no directory of guides, public or otherwise.

A reader or your guide may suggest introducing you to a fund or programme in the same family, such as Innov8 Global Ventures or the Society. Nothing is sent unless you choose what goes in, see the exact packet and approve it. A packet can carry your company name, stage, the wall in a line, your deck link and actions you agreed with your guide - never your voice note, the six answers, reviews or session summaries. The fund that receives it is a separate controller for what it keeps. You can revoke it: that stops further access, but cannot recall what was already received.

We use what you send to run the thing you asked us to run: to answer you, to read a kit and make introductions, to judge a guide's application, to put a climber and a guide in the same room, to check back once a fortnight after a session, and to settle up. Under the GDPR that is the performance of a contract once there is one, and before that our legitimate interest in answering an approach you made.

Nominations and vouches sit on legitimate interest too, and it is a weaker footing than consent, which is exactly why the paragraph above tells you how to end it in one line.

We do not sell your data. We do not hand it to advertisers. We do not train models on it. You will not be added to a mailing list you did not ask for.

Only what makes the platform work: two hosting providers (one serves the pages, one runs the platform), an email provider, and Anthropic for the summary described above, used only where both people agreed to record. No payment is taken through the site yet. When it is, the provider will be named on this page before the first charge, and card details will go to it rather than to us.

Some of these operate outside your country. Where data leaves the UK or EEA it moves under Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

Guides are checked before they are approved, and no guide is introduced to anyone until they have signed the club's legal pack. We record that a check happened, what it concluded, and when. Founders are meeting these people on the strength of it, which is the whole argument for holding it.

Two years, so we can come back to you when the right cohort appears. Ask and it goes sooner.

Referral packets you approved

The period is not set yet - it will be written here before any real packet is sent. What a fund keeps after receiving one is theirs to state.

Kits and voice notes

Two years from the last time the kit moved, then deleted. Withdraw a kit and ask, and it goes sooner.

Nominations and vouches

Until the person joins, declines, or asks us to remove it. A nomination nobody acts on is deleted after twelve months.

Sessions, transcripts and summaries

For the length of the working relationship, then as long as tax and contract law requires of the payment record.

Page statistics

Aggregate, nothing personal in it, kept indefinitely.

You can ask to see what we hold, to correct it, to have it deleted, to get a copy in a portable format, or to object to our holding it at all. One email does it. No form, no fee, and no explanation required.

If we handle a request badly you can complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first.

The site is served over HTTPS. A kit is visible to the climber and the two readers. A session summary is visible to the two people who were in the room. The few people running the platform can reach the database behind it, and that is the honest reason this page says the club does not read summaries rather than cannot.

The limit worth naming: a transcript is a record of a conversation two people had candidly, and no amount of encryption changes the fact that it exists. If you would rather a session left no transcript, say no when you are asked and it will not.

This is a place where founders and operators meet to work. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under sixteen.

If this page changes in any way that matters, the date at the top moves. If a change affects how we use something you already sent us, we will write to you rather than expect you to spot it.
